Baskota’s is more than just a cookie brand, it’s a story of passion, resilience, and the pursuit of perfection. It all started in December 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Ahmad, an architect and urban planner, found himself without work. What began as a simple curiosity to bake the perfect cookie quickly turned into an obsession.
Through countless trials, learning the science behind baking, and relentless dedication, Ahmad finally crafted the signature cookies that would define Baskota’s.
Encouraged by friends and family who had tasted his early creations, Ahmad decided to take a leap of faith and turn his home kitchen into a small business. With just a few flavors on the menu and the power of social media, word spread fast. Within months, people were talking about Baskota’s cookies, and soon, cafés reached out for bulk orders. What started as a solo venture quickly became something much bigger.
By the end of 2024, Ahmad met Yasser, who shared the same passion for the business. Together, they established the commercial kitchen that now fuels Baskota’s continued success.
The Name and Its Legacy
Baskota’s carries a name filled with deep personal meaning. The brand is named after Ahmad’s beloved male orange Persian cat, Baskota.
In Arabic, “baskota” means “cookie,” making it the perfect fit for a brand built on cookies. More than just a name, Baskota was Ahmad’s emotional support animal during a challenging time, offering comfort when it was needed most. Though he passed away at the age of five, his legacy lives on in every cookie baked.
The apostrophe in “Baskota’s” is a tribute to him, a reminder of his place in the journey of this brand.
