Our Story
Baskota’s is more than just a cookie brand. It is a story of passion, resilience, and the pursuit of baking excellence. It began in December 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ahmad, an architect and urban planner, suddenly found himself without work. What began as a simple curiosity to bake the perfect cookie quickly turned into an obsession.
Through countless experiments and long nights of learning the science behind cookies, Ahmad developed the signature recipes that would define Baskota’s. Each batch reflected his growing obsession with flavor, texture, and quality.
Friends and family were quick to encourage him to take it further. With just a few cookie flavors and the power of social media, Ahmad launched Baskota’s from his home kitchen. Within months, people were talking. Orders came in from customers and cafés alike, and soon, Baskota’s grew from a solo passion project into a small but thriving business.
By the end of 2024, Ahmad met Yasser, who shared his vision and enthusiasm. Together, they established the commercial kitchen that now fuels Baskota’s continued success.
The Name and Its Legacy
The name Baskota’s carries deep personal meaning. It is named after Ahmad’s beloved male orange Persian cat, Baskota.
In Arabic, the word “baskota” means “cookie”, making it a perfect fit for a bakery rooted in love and simplicity. More than just a name, Baskota was an emotional support companion during a difficult chapter in Ahmad’s life. Although he passed away at the age of five, his memory continues to live on in everything we bake.
The apostrophe in “Baskota’s” is a tribute to him and a reminder of his role in the brand’s beginning.
