We’re proud to share that Baskota’s has been featured in Al-Ahram Weekly in an article exploring the evolving traditions of Eid sweets:
“Traditions and Trends of Kahk Al-Eid”
In the article, our founder Ahmad Kadry speaks about how today’s bakers are experimenting with new flavors like chocolate, pistachio, caramel, honey, and even matcha — but also why tradition still holds a special place.
“Judging by tasting events we hosted for our new kahk line, plain kahk and traditional fillings remain the market preference,” said Ahmed.
He also emphasized that while Baskota’s is open to exploring new ideas, the heart of our Eid collection remains faithful to heritage — made using his mother’s (and grandmother’s) recipe, with just a few tweaks to ingredient ratios.
As we enter our first Eid kahk season, we’re excited to share sweets that carry stories, memories, and flavors passed down through generations — with just the right touch of modern magic.
